Description:
This Command Showcase expansion puts the player in a dynamic and complex situation set in 2026, where mission objectives and escalation go hand in hand, when armed conflict should be avoided, but the player´s actions can make it likely. Russia, trying to circumvent international sanctions, has concluded a trade agreement with Angola. Unfortunately, the situation has become ugly with the death of the President of Angola, mutual statements about the intervention of Russia and/or the United States and/or Europe, mixed with an unstable internal political situation that amounts to a civil war. While many countries are trying to evacuate non-combatants, Russia has promised to send "peacekeepers," and the United States is adamant that its embassy will remain open and U.S. citizens will be protected. The USS Ford and its dispersed strike group enter, distracted from their planned visit to South America. At the same time, the Russians are diverting their newly converted Admiral Nakhimov battlecruiser from its mission in the Mediterranean. Suddenly, two of the most powerful ships on the planet are moving at high speed towards a powder keg situation — what could possibly go wrong?
